Here are some of the websites that biogeographer Rebecca Turpin mentioned in her assembly today:
Geography Unit End question
There are two parts to the unit test next week (Thursday, March 11.)
- Look at these photos. What would a Geographer see in these photos? Say something using the five themes of Geography. Make sure you use geography vocabulary in your answer and explain why those ideas are important. You can practice for this question by looking at photos in the textbook and seeing if you can identify the five themes of Geography.
- There will be a question about some of the key vocabulary words from Chapters 1-3 that you wrote about in your Google Doc. You will have to fill out a mind map similar to this:
- Students who are modified are only responsible for only three themes (i.e. Chapter 1 and part of Chapter 2 pg G2-G31).
- Students who are accomodated are responsible for all five themes.
- Words will be chosen from the following list:
-
- Chapter 1: Place, Landmark, Geography, Relative location, Absolute location, Latitude, Longitude, Movement
- Chapter 2: endangered species, environment, natural vegetation, degraded, interaction, cultural landscapes, urban places
- Chapter 3: Region, transition zone, ecozone, formal region, functional region, urbanization
